A Delhi Court on Monday accepted Delhi Police's cancellation report in the POCSO case registered by a minor wrestler against former BJP MP and former Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) Chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh.

The matter was before Additional Sessions Judge Gomati Manocha of Patiala House Courts.

The case status of the matter reads “cancelled” and “case disposed.”

The Delhi Police had registered two FIRs at the Connaught Place police station against Singh. One FIR was registered under various offences under Indian Penal Code, 1860 whereas the other FIR was registered under the POCSO Act.

In the sexual harassment case registered by women wrestlers, charges were framed against Singh with respect to five women wrestlers.

Singh then moved the Delhi High Court challenging the said FIR, chargesheet and trial court proceedings. The petition is pending adjudication.

The alleged incidents of sexual harassment are said to have occurred between 2016 and 2019 at the WFI office, at Singh's official residence and also abroad, according to media reports. In the POCSO case, the minor had reportedly withdrawn her allegations against Singh.
