In a significant move aimed strengthening the digital infrastructure of the judiciary, the Jharkhand High Court has distributed Samsung Galaxy Tablet devices to 496 judicial officers serving in various civil courts across the state of Jharkhand

This initiative was undertaken on the recommendation of the Computer and Digitization Committee of the High Court of Jharkhand and approved by the Chief Justice of the High Court.

The distribution ceremony was held on the premises of the High Court, just ahead of the annual summer vacation. The event was graced by Justice Ananda Sen, Chairman of the Computer and Digitization Committee, along with committee members Justice Gautam Kumar Choudhary and Justice Arun Kumar Rai, who personally handed over the tablets to judicial officers stationed in Ranchi.

Also present were the Registrar General and key Registry officials, including the Central Project Coordinator.

Speaking at the event, Justice Ananda Sen highlighted, “the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 is equipped with advanced features such as Speech-to-Text functionality, AI integration, and other modern productivity applications, which will serve as a valuable support tool and assist the Judicial Officers in performing their duties.”

Notably, the District courts are facing acute shortage of stenographers and therefore, the Speech-to-Text feature of the tablet will help officers in dictating orders and judgments. The device offers a high-resolution Dynamic AMOLED 2X display, S Pen support for precise note-taking, powerful Snapdragon® 8 Gen 2 processor for seamless multitasking, enhanced security features, and long battery life - making it a robust tool for professional use in the judicial ecosystem.

“Judicial officers welcomed the initiative, expressing confidence that this will substantially help them in their day to day judicial work,” said the Press Release issued by the High Court.
