The Gujarat High Court on Monday (June 9) stopped functioning post lunch hour, after the court's registry allegedly received an anonymous bomb threat through email.
A notice issued by the Registrar General states:
"Because of unavoidable circumstances, it has been decided to discontinue the functioning of the Courts after Iunch i.e. after 1.45 pm. The Courts are requested to convey to the Lawyers that they are not functioning after lunch and also that all will have to leave the premises, as early as possible, as a security check of the whole Court premise is required"
Following the threat, the security has been heightened, gates of the court have been sealed and a bomb squad along with dog squad as well as police officials have been deployed at the high court premises.
